VeriFone RiTA Server Components
When you purchase RiTA Server, you will receive the following components.
RiTA Engine
The RiTA Engine is the component that is used to talk securely and directly to credit card processing companies. Communication can occur using the following means: via IP-based SSL through asynchronous dial or the Internet, and/or via TCP/IP through frame relay or leased line connections. Java™ programmers can interface directly with the RiTA Engine using the hash table API.
Multiple RiTA API Options
There are several ways your application can communicate with RiTA: via sockets, a Java™ hash table, or a file interface (file drop). Each of these methods uses the same name-value pairs to pass transaction information like credit card track data, amounts, etc. The socket and file interface APIs allow any programming language to interface with RiTA.
File API and iSeries AS/400 Toolkit
The RiTA 2.0 file API and iSeries or System i AS/400 credit card payment software toolkit provide cross-platform support while eliminating the need for sockets code, hash table or Java™ application.
RiTA API Documentation
The API documentation assists the application developer to integrate with the RiTA Engine. It contains information on all of the commands and parameters that are required to communicate with the RiTA Engine.
RiTA Server Application
The RiTA Server Application is commonly used when integrators are not familiar with Java™ programming. The server supports peer-to-peer communications using TCP/IP socket-enabled client applications. This means that RiTA will integrate with almost any programming environment!
Sample RiTA Clients
The included sample client applications demonstrate how RiTA Server could be used in e-Commerce, MOTO (Mail Order / Telephone Order), and Retail environments. Java™, Perl, and Visual Basic clients are included along with source code and documentation. A sample client and its source code are also included for iSeries/RPG.
Database Setup Scripts
Since RiTA Server is designed to work with any JDBC (Java™ Database Connectivity) compatible database such as the IBM System i or iSeries AS/400, we have provided database setup scripts that work with most popular relational database products, including: Oracle, MS SQL Server, MySQL, DB2, and MS Access.
Easy-to-use RiTA Configurator
The RiTA Configurator provides you with the ability to configure and update RiTA to meet your unique requirements via a user-friendly graphical user interface (GUI). This tool simplifies support of RiTA installs and upgrades. Its intuitive nature auto-tests for required data prior to committing. A single XML file contains your configuration information, which allows for easy transfer to merchants (via e-mail, FTP, etc.) and backup. Modem configuration is also included.
Easy-to-use RiTA Installer
The GUI-based RiTA Installer greatly simplifies RiTA's installation. It automatically configures database tables and prompts for necessary information in the correct order. The RiTA Installer also supports upgrade functionality, providing you with the ability to upgrade existing RiTA users without any effect on existing data or configuration.
